Do you know someone with behaviors that make it difficult to participate in school, family life, work or community activities?

“Our goal is to give you the skills needed to improve your child’s quality of life, and the life of your family.”

PBS Nevada’s “Addressing Challenging Behavior” workshop is designed to help you:

  • Define and understand the cause of the problem behavior.
  • Identify strategies to decrease problem behavior, improving quality of life.
  • Teach appropriate behaviors which enhance quality of life.
  • Improve the quality of life so that person can be a part of yours.

There are a total of 4 sessions.

Las Vegas Topic Specific Training “Getting From Point A to Point B”

This is a workshop for parents and support staff of individuals who have difficulty transitioning from one activity to another or who have a hard time ending one activity or starting another activity.

PBS’s “Getting From Point A to Point B” will help you:

-Identify challenging routines.

-Improve difficult transitions through the use of visual supports and other strategies.

-Build consistency in routines.

-Teach increased independence in daily routines, increasing overall quality of life.

“Our goal is to give you the skills needed to help these individuals and families improve their quality of life.”

This is a work shop for parents and children ages 2-10 who have attempted toilet training with little to no success.

“Our goal is to give you the skills needed to improve your child’s quality of life, and the life of your family.”

The PBS Potty Pros methods will help you:

-Identify your child’s toileting schedule.

-Learn specific techniques for successful toilet training.

-Develop a toilet training plan that will work for your child and your family.

-Understand special topics and issues that may arise during the toilet training process.

Reno Breaking the Cycle of Defiance

Do you work with children that display challenging behaviors?

If so, PBS Nevada’s FREE Positive Behavior Support Team Workshop is designed to help you:

-Assist in defining and understanding the cause of problem behavior.

-Learn the best practice techniques and strategies to prevent and manage defiant behavior.

 

Breaking the Cycle of Defiance is a workshop designed for administrators, deans, educators, and support staff who work with individuals that display acting-out behavior.

-Identify an appropiate form of communication.

-Understand the wants and needs associated with challenging behavior.

-Replace problem behavior with appropriate communication.

-Teach others how to help the individual you are supporting communicate.

Nevada TACSEI Advanced Behavior Specialists

*Please note that this training is invite only. To RSVP please contact Janice*

A training for teachers, coaches and/or administrators for using evidence-based practices for dealing with young children with persistent challenging behavior.

This training is being facilitated by Glen Dunlap and Janice Lee, National TACSEI Faculty.

Using a Case Study process, participants who participate in “Nevada TACSEI Advanced Behavior Specialists” will:

-Participate in teleconference calls about every 3 weeks for about 5 months and provide updates.

-Learn about the Positive Behavior Support Plan process.

-Identify functional goals.

-Conduct a Functional Assessment (or Functional Behavioral Assessment).

-Develop functional and effective strategies for implementation.

-Collect progress monitoring data.
