Elko “Addressing Challenging Behaviors” Workshop

 

Do you know someone with behaviors that make it difficult to participate in school, family life, work or community activities?

 PBS Nevada’s “Addressing Challenging Behaviors” Workshop is designed to help you:

  •  Define and understand the cause of problem behavior.
  • Identify strategies to decrease problem behavior, improving quality of life.
  • Teach appropriate behaviors which enhance quality of life.
  • Improve the quality of life sot that person can be a part of yours.

“Our goal is to give you the skills needed to improve your child’s quality of life, and the life of your family.”

 DATES: Tuesdays, September 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, and October 7th

TIME: 9:00am – 12:00pm

LOCATION: ECSD Central Office

FEES: There is a one-time $50 fee which includes five workshop sessions and five individual in-home or on-site consultation sessions! A tuition waiver is available based on the poverty guidelines.

Elko “Teaching Effective Communication” Workshop

This is a workshop for parents and support staff of individuals who have difficulty communicating and who currently or may be likely to engage in challenging behavior as a result.

PBS Nevada’s “Teaching Effective Communication” Workshop will help you:

  • Identify an appropriate form of communication.
  • Understand the wants or needs associated with challenging behavior.
  • Replace problem behavior with appropriate communication.
  • Teach others how to help the individual you are supporting communicate.

“Our goal is to give you the skills needed to improve your child’s quality of life, and the life of your family.”

DATE: Tuesday, October 14th, 2014

TIME: 1:00pm – 3:30pm

  • Teach appropriate behaviors which enhance quality of life.
  • Improve the quality of life so that person can be a part of yours.

*Each session builds on the previous session – you must plan to attend ALL sessions.*

Reno “Prevent-Teach-Reinforce Comprehensive” Workshop

Do you know someone with behaviors that make it difficult to participate in school?

PBS-Nevada and WCSD present the “Prevent-Teach-Reinforce Comprehensive” Workshop that is designed to help you use the PTR Model to:

  • Define and understand the cause of problem behavior.
  • Identify strategies to decrease problem behavior, improving quality of life.
  • Teach appropriate behaviors which enhance quality of life.
  • Improve the quality of life so that the person can be a part of your school.

“Our goal is to give you the skills needed to help teams understand and effectively implement the Prevent-Teach-Reinforce Model.”

DATES: Thursdays, September 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, and October 2nd

*Each session builds on the previous session – you must plan to attend ALL sessions.*

TIME: 5:00pm – 8:00pm

*Light refreshments will be provided.*

FEES: Thanks to a collaboration with WCSD, this workshop will be free of charge!

*Teachers earn 1 Credit!*
