About
Since 2005, the Part C Annual Family Outcomes Survey has canvassed families who use services for families with infants and toddlers with disabilities about those services. The 20-question survey sought information about how early intervention programs affected them, with 3 main focus areas:
1)Do families know their rights?
2)Are they comfortable and can they effectively communicate their children’s needs?
3)Are their children receiving help to develop and learn?
The 2009 survey was sent to 1,471 families, with a little more than half sent to the southern part of Nevada. 430 surveys, or 23%, were returned.
That year the results were overwhelmingly positive for the 3 focus areas:
1)93% of families strongly agreed or agreed with the statement “Early Intervention helps me know and understand my parent rights.”
2)94% of families strongly agreed or agreed with the statement “Early Intervention helps me effectively communicate my children’s needs.”
3)95% of families strongly agreed or agreed with the statement “My Early Intervention providers show me how I can help my child develop and learn.”
